Youth Services & Sponsored Youth Committee
The Youth Services Committee goal is to provide a spectrum of support to the youth of our community. We provide grants to Benton County youth organizations. The grants provide financial assistance for a variety of youth oriented activities. They include events and programs oriented toward helping our youth to achieve life's goals, fight delinquency, scouting, 4-H, Boys & Girls Club, safety education, as well as vocational and career guidance. Special events include an annual Christmas Program for Home Life and Children’s Farm Home and a planting activity at Central Park’s Spring Garden Event.
Corvallis has two public high schools. The committee gives awards for "The Student of the Quarter," and "The Kiwanis Special Recognition Award." At year end, one of the quarterly award recipients is chosen to receive "The Student of the Year" and a scholarship to their choice of college. The Student of the Quarter Application Form
should be completed and returned to the chair of the Youth Services Committee at the address below.
Kiwanis provides leadership and support for the high school Key Clubs so that students can enjoy the benefits of service through membership to Kiwanis. We also support the OSU Circle K Club for college affiliation to Kiwanis.
How can youth organizations request Kiwanis support? Review the eligibility requirements, complete forward to the chair of the Youth Services Committee as per the information on the form.
The committee meets Oct., Nov., Jan- July, and Sept. on the 3rd Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 am at Corvallis Elmer's Restaurant.
